Recently, Capcom shared more information about their upcoming games at the 2026 Tokyo Game Show, which is currently running from the 17th September 2026 to the 21st of September 2026.
With the first game discussed being the upcoming Mega Man title Dual Override. Here’s a new trailer for the title starring the game’s director Shinya Ikuta and the producer Hiroyuki Minamitani, as shared by GamesPrey on YouTube:
So, what’s in this one? Well, quite a few interesting things to be honest.
First, there’s info on Proto Man as a playable character in the game. Apparently, he now has a new moveset compared to Mega Man (with a focus on close combat rather than ranged attacks), and gets upgrades for his shield by defeating bosses rather than new weapons.
There’s also info about how stages work here too. In most Mega Man games, the level structure is pretty simple. You have one level per Robot Master, and you fight them at the end. Fair enough.
In this one? It’s more like other 2D platformers with a ‘world format’. Now, you’ve got three stages per level, with the Robot Master presumably being fought at the end of the final one. So, that’s kinda different from your average Mega Man game.
They also mention there are over 50 custom chips you can equip the protagonists with, and those have various effects in game (active and passive). This lets players customise their own playstyle to some degree.
The boss battle with Twinkle Girl gets a mention too. Mostly in how her attack patterns and AI work like other Robot Master bosses in Mega Man games, and test the player’s reflexes and pattern recognition.
Finally, there’s talk of Override mode and how it powers up your character for desperate situations. There’s not really much info about how exactly that works here (especially in Proto Man’s case), but it is featured a bit more nonetheless.
