Among Us is Now Available for Nintendo Switch

Earlier today, Nintendo aired another Indie World Showcase presentation. In that presentation various games were announced for the console, including Spelunky 1 and 2, Super Meatboy Forever and Grindstone to name but a few. It was a neat set of reveals, and included quite a few interesting games we didn’t expect to see on Nintendo’s games.

With one of the most interesting being the popular spaceship betrayal game Among Us. Set on a spaceship (or other similar location) where the players are split into crewmates and imposters, the title has the latter trying to kill the former while the former attempt to use their logic and reasoning to identify and jetison from the ship or station.

It was a major hit on Steam earlier this year, and one that took the internet by storm earlier in 2020.

And as it turns out, it seems like it’s going to be likewise for Switch too. That’s because not only does the Switch one have all the same content as the PC and mobile ones, but it has it at a cheaper price point too, with the added bonuses of both on TV and handheld mode play. Here’s the announcement about it from Nintendo UK on Twitter:

It’s a good deal, and one that made us realise two important points immediately afterwards.

First, there’s no really any reason not to buy this version overall. After all, the Switch version is compatible with the PC and mobile versions via crossplay, is cheaper than the former, has no ads and can be played on the go like the latter.

As a result, if you haven’t got Among Us already and you own a Switch… well there’s no reason not to buy this one.

Secondly, the announcement pbasically sticks the last nail in the coffin for Fall Guys as a whole. That’s because not only did that game completely get replaced by Among Us as the ‘hot new multiplayer title of the year’, but it also never came to the Switch either. As a result, anyone who owns Nintendo’s console is guaranteed to choose Among Us, since Fall Guys isn’t even an option here.

So yeah, if you’re a Switch player that’s interested in trying it Among Us, give it a shot. £3.89 isn’t exactly a lot of money to spend here, and it’s a fun time for anyone into this sort of party game. Definitely a title worth checking out if you haven’t.

Regardless, what do you think? Are you excited to try Among Us on Switch? How do you think the game compares to its PC and mobile counterparts?
