According to Edge (the magazine), it might be true. They say that the release date for the game in Europe is Q3, or the third quarter of the current fiscal year. Now admittedly, that’s kind of vague, there are many months in each fiscal year quarter, but it does imply the game will be out within a year from the current date.
Unfortunately for those in the US though, they didn’t even give a release date for them, with the US release information being labelled as ‘TBA’. Sorry, you might be waiting a bit longer if you ever get the game at all.
This one seems to give a good indication to the game’s story too. As it generally says in the trailer:
The underworld armies are invading and the humans are taking a beating! They need our (presumably referring to Pit and the centurions) help!
That’s what plays out in this trailer. First you see Medusa’s return, then the armies of darkness attacking and destroying pretty much everything in the setting, as well as Pit valiantly trying to fight them back.
There’s also reference to the ‘three sacred treasures’ from the original, which for whatever reason are now found on the space pirate ship shown in earlier videos and screenshots. Presumably these are needed to defeat Medusa, like in the NES game.
Cameos and throwbacks seem to be all over the place too, with the characters practically saying out loud how long it’s been since the last adventure and the villain saying that her and Pit have finally met again. Not to mention the footage from the NES game sprinkled throughout the video such as when the sacred treasures are first mentioned. It definitely seems to be aimed at the people who played the original game as much as those who’re new to the series.
We also hear of an underwater palace, presumably another level in the game. All in all, it’s a really nice trailer and one that gets me very excited for Kid Icarus Uprising’s release. What do you think of it?
Yes, it’s up for the video game BAFTAS in the UK for one thing. Here are the relevant awards where 3DS games like Super Mario 3D Land have been nominated:
Best Design Batman: Arkham City L.A. Noire LittleBigPlanet 2 Portal 2 Super Mario 3D Land The Elder Scrolls V – Skyrim
Best Family Game Dance Central 2 Kinect Sports 2 LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars LittleBigPlanet 2 Mario Kart 7
Mobile & Handheld Dead Space iOS Magnetic Billiards: Blueprint Peggle Quarrel Super Mario 3D Land The Nightjar
It’s not particularly much unfortunately, but hey, you should definitely vote Mario Kart 7 for best family game. And Super Mario 3D Land for best mobile game, although to be perfectly honest, Mario Kart 7 should have been the one nominated for that instead. But that’s just my thoughts.
Another game where it’s seemingly been a while since new screenshots have been released of it, we now have a few more showing the game. So if you were interested in this game before, keep reading to see some more images of the game that are brand new and quite difficult to find elsewhere!
Screenshot 1 shows more of the actual game. And presumably whoever’s playing it as of this point is doing pretty well too, gathering a ‘perfect’ ranked combo. Then again, it seems like their high score is the same, which implies that matching or beating your record is what gets you this ‘perfect’ ratings.
Yes, it’s not even been a day since the last time some magazine scans of this game were shown on Nintendo 3DS Daily, but we’ve since found even more of them. So for anyone wanting to see more of Fire Emblem Awakening, keep reading!
