Well folks, it seems like another set of classic games have been added to the Nintendo Switch Online service. Most notably, Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3.

Yep, Wario’s debut as a protagonist is now available on the service, and has him battling through Captain Syrup’s forces on Kitchen Island to retrieve a statue of Princess Peach and get as much money as possible in the process.
It’s not the best game in the series by any means, and it’s definitely a little more traditional than the likes of Wario Land II, 3 or 4 after it…
But it’s still a phenomenal platformer for the Game Boy, and one that’s well worth checking out.
The other games are ones we’re a bit less familiar with, at least on the English side of things. The Sword of Hope is a 1989 RPG by Kemco, which is apparently a fine enough game, albeit an outdated one.
While Fortified Zone is an average to decent shooter by Jaleco that didn’t exactly make much of a splash upon release. Certainly a strange choice for the service, but not the worst they could have gone with by any means.
Dr Mario & Puzzle League on the other hand, is a bit more interesting. A decent yet somewhat unambitious collection of puzzle games for the GBA, it’s a welcome addition that’s certainly going to be worth trying for puzzle fans.
Regardless, Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 is the big addition, and it’s well worth trying out. Give it a shot if you’re big on 2D platformers, or want to get a taste of Wario’s first solo adventure.
