Over the last few years, PC ports of Nintendo games have become incredibly common online. These exist for all sorts of games (including Super Mario 64, Mario Kart 64 and Star Fox 64), but are especially common for the Zelda series, with the likes of Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess being some of the more notable examples.
And it seems this pattern is only continuing with another recent release. Why? Because it seems like The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap has now been ported to PC as well. Here’s a video by Video Game Esoterica about the port, since the project itself has no launch trailer:

Unfortunately, the project isn’t exactly picture-perfect right now. It works sure, and you can definitely enjoy the game on PC with it as it stands…
But as the GitHub release history shows, it’s still in the early stages right now. With the latest version only been 0.1.2, you’re getting a fairly barebones port for sure. So, don’t expect any of the craziness found in the Twilight Princess or Super Mario 64 ports. Forget randomisers or quality of life features, this is more a proof of concept than anything else.
Regardless, it’s neat to see. The Minish Cap is one of the best handheld Zelda titles ever made, and a truly underrated gem in the series even by those standards. If you’re a Zelda fan who hasn’t already played it yet, you’re seriously missing out here.
So, it’s nice to see some more love given to the game, and we advise you to give the game a look in general too. It’s on Nintendo Switch Online if you’ve got the Expansion Pack, and it’s technically now on PC in some form as well.
