It’s the announcement almost everyone saw coming. Indeed, given the lack of a concrete release date for FromSoft’s upcoming Switch 2 exclusive, it was always pretty obvious that it’s 2026 release year was a fantasy at best. That the Duskbloods would need that bit more development time to hit its goals, and that said time would push it over into 2027.
And now, that’s officially been confirmed. Here’s the delay announcement from the game’s official Twitter feed:
While development of "The Duskbloods" is at the final adjustment stage, we have made the decision to move the launch window to 2027.
We apologize to players who have been kindly awaiting the release of this title and thank you for your patience and support. https://t.co/U9941Mgkyw

Which makes perfect sense to be honest. The game needed a bit more time to shine given the sometimes-rough state of the playtest, and the upcoming releases of games like Grand Theft Auto 6 and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time probably would have overshadowed it with a November or December 2026 release. So, the game gets delayed a bit more to polish things up, and a release gets announced in the coming year instead.
Still, what are your thoughts here? Are you disappointed to see this game pushed back to next year? How well do you think it’ll do on release anyway?
