Well, it’s an interesting time for Switch release dates isn’t it? Right after Xenoblade Chronicles 3 got pushed forward to July 2022, Splatoon 3 got its release date too.
What’s more, the game also seems to have swapped places with Xenoblade too! Why? Because today, Nintendo announced Splatoon 3 would be released on September 9th 2022, a similar date to the Xenoblade’s original one. Check out the trailer with more info here:

It’s pretty intriguing to see, and makes us wonder what led to the shift here. Did Nintendo think Xenoblade Chronicles 3 was simply a better July release than Splatoon? Were two big Switch games in the same month seen as too risky for the company?
