Back in the recent Legend of Zelda Direct, Nintendo announced that collectible cards for the series were being added in the Nintendo Today app. These functioned similarly to the Super Mario Galaxy Movie ones used to promote that film, and came with a quiz question about the card’s subject.
However, it seems not all is well in the world of collectible Zelda cards. Why? Because earlier today, Nintendo announced they’d made a pretty mistake:
Yeah, there was an error in the quiz question associated with the Bokoblin Mask card. The answer that was marked as incorrect was actually the correct answer.
But there’s a bit more to the issue than that. Since well, the question being mentioned is so poorly worded that it’s basically useless.
You see, the question asks what happens when Link encounters a group of Bokoblins wearing the Bokoblin Mask. Fair enough.
The issue is that both answers given (they treat him as their own and they surround him) are both correct. Bokoblins do treat him as their own, since they don’t attack him when the item is active. And they do also surround him, since they’re curious about this mysterious new ‘Bokoblin’ that randomly showed up in the group.
So, the quiz basically turned into a guessing game. One where success was basically a coin flip.
Regardless, Nintendo says they’re doing something about the error, and will update the app once their decision is finalised. Presumably, they’ll either replace the quiz with a new one and serve it again, or just give everyone the points regardless of which option they went with.
Stay tuned for more updates.
