When Ubisoft announced that Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope was getting DLC, they mentioned three DLC packs. The first one was The Tower of Doooom, where the heroes needed to make their way to the top of a treacherous tower by defeating hordes of enemies. The second was a minor story expansion called The Last Spark Hunter, where they needed to defeat the villainous Kanya, who had conquered the Melodic Gardens and wanted to extend her plans to the entire galaxy.
And then we got the final one. A crossover over DLC pack where Rayman was a major character, and where he might interact with Mario & friends for the first time ever.
Yet we didn’t know much more than that. Indeed, apart from the presence of Rayman and the idea that it’d be released after the first two, we didn’t know anything at all. No story, no concrete release date, nothing.
But now that’s all changed. Why? Because earlier today, Ubisoft has released a new trailer that answers all these questions and more. Check it out here:
As you can tell, it’s got a lot of interesting ideas on the table. There’s a TV/film studio esque setting with areas based on popular genres. Rayman and the Rabbids are guest stars on a TV show there, and the whole thing is hosted by the Phantom from Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle.
Yep, you heard that right.
The Phantom from the last game is hosting this, and might be the main antagonist too. That’s pretty awesome news all around, especially after the epic hero sucks song he sung in the last game. Will we get another one in Sparks of Hope as well? Perhaps even one about Rayman and his history in place of Mario’s?
Regardless, Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope: Rayman in the Phantom Show launches on August 30th 2023. If you want more info, check out the trailer included above or the official site…
