Mario Kart 8 Deluxe got another update yesterday, with yet more bug fixes being applied to the game. Here is the full list of changes from the official site:
- Fixed an issue where the number of obstacles or Item Boxes would increase during Online Play and Wireless Play on Nintendo Switch 2 compared to Nintendo Switch.
- Fixed an issue where players could not select a user who is registered to the system when playing with two players for Online Play and Wireless Play.
- Fixed an issue where some of the Star Bits would not be displayed when driving on Wii Rainbow Road on Nintendo Switch 2.
- Fixed an issue where the game would close unexpectedly when certain conditions were fulfilled.
Yeah, it’s a small list of fixes here. Some are admittedly pretty major changes like the game closing unexpectedly or the number of obstacles/item boxes being unexpectedly higher on Switch 2, but for the most part, it’s stuff that 99% of players probably wouldn’t notice.
And the usual Ninja Hideaway softlock hasn’t been fixed either. So, the biggest glitch left in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is still there, and will probably still be there for the foreseeable future:
You can still softlock the game here in the latest #MarioKart 8 Deluxe update.
(It’s just funny how many patches this glitch survives) https://t.co/otx26N477H

Regardless, that’s everything in the latest update for the game. But what do you think? Did you encounter any of these bugs and issues before?
