DK Bananza Events Will Be Rerun

Last month, the final Emerald Rush event occurred for Donkey Kong Bananza on Switch 2. This event was called Bananza Antics, was set on the Feast Layer, and had players attempt to earn statues of Candy Kong and Funky Kong.

Yet this raised a few questions. Most notably, what were Nintendo going to do afterwards?

Were any missed statues lost forever? Or would Emerald Rush events going on loop, given there’s now enough to cover an entire year?

Well, as the title suggests, it’s option number 2. The game’s Emerald Rush events will seemingly just be rerun on a yearly basis. Here’s the event schedule for the next 12 months:

Month Event Layer Reward
October Chip Fever DK Island Enguarde, Kong Bananza
November So Strong It’s Funny Hilltop Layer Chunky Kong, Lanky Kong
December Dig the Beat Landfill Layer Ninja Kong, Ghastly King
January Freeze Break Freezer Layer Tucks, Lord Fredrik
February Ostrich Riches Forest Layer Expresso, Ostrich Bananza
March Unyielding Strength DK Island Wrinkly Kong, Tiny Kong
April Rattlin’ Snake Bananza Radiance Layer Rattly, Snake Bananza
May Kong Bananza Returns Canyon Layer Tiki Goon, Tiki Tong
June Elephant Bananza Stampede Tempest Layer Ellie, Elephant Bananza
July Bobbing for Baubles Resort Layer DK Coin, Kiddy Kong
August Lagoon Dash Lagoon Layer Winky, Zebra Bananza
September Bananza Antics Feast Layer Candy Kong, Funky Kong

So, if you missed out on an event before, don’t worry. You’ll get another chance to win that statue in either 2026 or 2027. What’s more, you’ll get more time than before too.

Indeed, while the original event schedule gave you just a week to clear each event, the new schedule is a lot more generous in that regard. Now, each event starts on the 1st of the month and lasts for the entire month instead.

Hence you’re not forced to rush for any of these this time around. You’ll get a whole 30-31 days to try and win the statues, and likely another attempt when the events roll around the year after as well.

Of course, that’s assuming things will repeat each year. Technically, nothing on the official site confirms that’s the case here. It’s entirely possible this second attempt is the last one you’ll get, and the game will become unwinnable once the year is out.

But come on, is that really how Nintendo will handle things here? They’ve literally got enough events to run things on autopilot for the foreseeable future. It’s not like some random guy sits in an office waiting for midnight to roll around so he can press the ‘start next event’ button. The system’s probably entirely automated by this point, and just set to loop via a cron job or something similar.

So, while it’s technically possible this is the final time these events will be run, we heavily doubt that’s the case. It’s more likely they’ll leave it running until the Switch Online servers shut down.

Regardless, are you excited to try out any of these events a second time? Are there any statues you missed that you need to catch up on here?
