Back in 2024, Argonaut Games was relaunched for the modern age. Upon being brought back, they then revived Croc: Legend of the Gobbos for modern platforms, complete with revamped controls, cleaned up graphics and optional goodies for fans of the series and its development history.
But that left fans wondering something. Would Croc 2 get the same treatment? Would a possible Croc 3 be on the way later?
Well, as it turns out, we now have an answer to at least the first of those questions. Why? Because earlier this week, Argonaut Games announced that Croc 2 was being revived as Croc 2: Kingdom of the Gobbos. Here’s the reveal trailer from their official YouTube channel:
As you can see, it’s got all the things you’d expect from a remaster like this. You’ve got updated graphics and music which improve on the original while keeping the original style intact. There’s a Croc2pedia, complete with concept art and 3D models for the game and interviews with its developers.
Plus there are a few smaller gameplay changes too, like a new triple jump move that should make navigation a breeze.
So, check out the official site here, then get ready for another Croc adventure when the game launches on Switch, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox Series X/S and various PC game stores in the near future. If it does well enough, the company might even revive the series with a third game and make it a trilogy!
