PZ001 Introduction

This aims to be a definitive guide to all the monsters that you can
obtain in Puzzle & Dragons Z!
This guide will document all 265 monsters and all the details found in the
Monster Guide including their flavor text, recommended locations to acquire common
monsters, methods of acquiring special monsters, type, ratings, and much more!

PZ002 Things to keep in mind

Please note that this guide applies to the US (and EUR) version of this game!
As such, only the first 265 monsters will be included here!
There are really 302 monsters in the game that were collaborative events in Japan only,
and were never ported to the international versions, and are dummied out!

PZ003 Event Relics

Also, during the early weeks of the games launch, various relics were
distributed over Wi-Fi each week that granted access to special dungeons where
you could have a chance to obtain specific monsters exclusive to these dungeons!
Unfortunately, these relics were only distributed one time only,
so if you missed a relic, then you will never be able to get
that specific relic (and it’s monster) in the future outside of cheating…

These relics are (Listed in internal order,
or in the order they appear in the items menu):

Before the game’s release, there were 4 special relics that you could only
obtain by preordering the game from 4 specific stores!
Please note that in order to legitimately obtain all 4 relics on one game,
you would have had to purchase the game 4 times!
These were never rereleased as weekly distributions,
and the codes you redeemed to get the relics expired,
and could only be used once!
If you missed any of the 4 relics,
then the only way to obtain them now would be through cheating!

These relics are (Again, listed in internal order,
or in the order they appear in the items menu):

Immortal Dragon Relic (Obtained by pre-purchasing on Nintendo eShop)
Destroyer Dragon Relic (Obtained by preordering at GameStop)
Death Skydragon Relic (Obtained by preordering at Best Buy)
Vampire Relic (Obtained by preordering on Amazon)

5 relics can be obtained by scanning orb codes at the Ranger HQ!

And finally…
there is one relic that has been given away as a promotion in Japan that has not

where you can obtain a monster you may be familiar with!

The only way to obtain this relic is by cheats!

So, today, it is IMPOSSIBLE to legitimately
obtain all 265 monsters without cheats!

Evolution and skill descriptions will be in another section of this guide!

Notes:
The completion of this guide is base on my progress on my game!
If any monsters are missing right now,
that means I haven’t obtained that monster yet!
When I acquire a new monster, this FAQ will be updated!

The statement “Note: This monster is unobtainable through normal means”
only applies to those who do not have the event relic to access the
dungeon this monster is obtained from! When you see this,
assume that you do not have the event relic for it!
This does not apply to monsters that are obtained from orb code relics!

The ‘Recommended location to acquire’ section of an entry is not necessarily
the earliest location to acquire a specific monster, but a location where it’s
been confirmed by me to eventually drop, or obtain its egg at a reasonable rate!

PZ006 Stat Bonuses From Enhancing

This section will provide the types of monster eggs that you need to use to
get specific stat bonus diamonds (Up to 99 each)!

Remember that stat bonuses will only be given if the egg attributes match the
primary attribute of the monster you are enhancing!
Like this: Water egg to Water monster
Or this: Wood egg to Wood/Water monster
NOT this: Water egg to Fire/Water Monster

HP Bonuses: Mutant & Animal
ATK Bonuses: True Dragon & Phantom Dragon
DEF Bonuses: Dragonoid & Divine

PZ007 FAQs

Q: I missed a weekly/Preorder relic! What do I do about it!?
A: Sorry to hear that! The only thing to do now is to cheat! GBATemp is a
great place to go to learn about hacking the Nintendo 3DS!

Q: Where can I obtain this monster?
A: Look through the guide! If it isn’t there, then I haven’t put it up there yet!
It will be up in a later version!

Q: What is the drop rate for eggs?
A: Hard to say! It varies from monster to monster and dungeon to dungeon,
but to my experience with Legendary Stages of weekly relic dungeons
, or just special dungeons in general, the drop rate for the boss monsters seem
to be 1 in 16! I really don’t know, and cannot give you a straight answer!

Q: How do I get the Skydragons?
A: Short answer: WITH A GREAT DEGREE OF DIFFICULTY!!! Long answer: In the post
game, defeating a Dark Skydragon subsequently (First defeat will not drop!)
has a very slim chance of dropping its ordinary Skydragon egg! Dark Skydragons
WILL NOT drop themselves at all in the main game!

Q: So, How do I get the DARK SKYDRAGONS!?
A: BY SPILLING MANY DROPS OF BLOOD, SWEAT AND TEARS!!!!!
Sorry, the Dark Skydragons will only drop themselves in their respective relic
dungeons which were each distributed over Wi-Fi each week! If you missed one,
then you’d better hope you have a hacked 3DS handy!

Q: How do I get the Death Skydragon?
A: I assume you don’t have have the Death Skydragon Relic, so grab a hacked 3DS,
and hack one into your inventory!

Q: Will Zerclea join my team at some point?
A: Sadly, no… The only way to obtain the Life Skydragon would be to use the
Life Skydragon relic and defeat it for a chance to drop it’s egg, but as we
all know, the Life Skydragon relic was never released outside of Japan, leaving
Zerclia just a mere plot device overseas… Which is a shame, because Zerclia is
a really cool monster! If you REALLY want it, then you HAVE to hack your 3DS
and hack the relic into your inventory, or trade with someone else who has one!

Q: How do I hack my 3DS? How do I hack the event relics into my inventory?
A: Take a look around GBATemp, as that is outside the scope of this guide!
As for hacking the relics into your inventory, you’ll have do also
look on GBATemp for that as well! I may eventually get the codes up on the guide,
but I am not a goto person for this kind of stuff! It is worth sacrificing a spare
3DS for if you have one!

Q: I reset my save data, and I had some distributed relics!!!
Oh my gosh, ARE THESE LOST FOR GOOD!? PLEASE HELP MEEEEEEEEE!!!!
A: No worries! The weekly relics are downloaded to your SD card, so if you
reset your game, you will still have access to your precious relics, so long
as you DO NOT TOUCH THE P&DZ EXTRA DATA!!!! Orb code relics can be reobtained
by scanning their respective orb codes!

Q: Can you provide a walkthrough for each of the relic dungeons?
A: That’s not the purpose of this guide!
