For fans of the Xenoblade series, the Nintendo Switch generation has already been the best they’ve ever seen. We’ve got a brand-new game, in the form of 2017’s Xenoblade Chronicles 2. We got a remake of the first game, in the form of 2020’s Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition.
Plus, we got another new sequel on top of that, with Xenoblade Chronicles 3 taking the series to a trilogy back in 2022. It’s an incredible time for Xenoblade games, and one which already makes the Switch the best possible generation for the franchise.
And now it seems the fanbase is about to get even luckier. Why? Because right out of the blue, Nintendo has announced that Xenoblade Chronicles X would be getting its own Definitive Edition for Switch in 2025! Here’s the reveal trailer from the official site:
As you can see, it’s looking exactly how you’d expect it to. It’s a cleaner, shinier form of an already exceptional looking Wii U game, and right at home on the Switch as a result of that.
But it’s not just a port here. No, just like the original Xenoblade Chronicles, this version includes new story content too. We don’t exactly know it’ll be (the trailer and official site leave it rather ambiguous for the time being), but it’s exciting news nonetheless, especially if said content somehow manages to tie it into the rest of the series in some way or another.
Still, Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition is heading to Switch on March 20th 2025. You can find more info about it on the official page here, or the trailer linked above.
Have fun Xenoblade fans!
