The Final Switch 1 Direct Happens Tomorrow!

The Final Switch 1 Direct Happens Tomorrow!

We’ve gotta be honest with you, we never saw this coming. Indeed, while we knew there were rumours of a Switch 1 focused Nintendo Direct on the horizon, and that said rumours said it would be happening this week…

The idea just seemed utterly ludicrous to us. After all, are you saying Nintendo is gonna announce another Nintendo Direct? Or that it’d be announced just a few days before the big Switch 2 one everyone was excited for?

It felt like wishful thinking, and something right out of a delusional gamer fantasy.

But no, it’s true. We’re getting a Nintendo Direct tomorrow (at 2pm on the 27th of March), and it’ll be 30 minutes of trailers and announcements for Switch 1 games.

Here’s the post about it from Nintendo of America on Twitter:

Plus, their UK counterparts:

And the Japanese official account:

So yeah, we’re getting Nintendo Directs for two consecutive weeks in a row. That’s certainly something we never thought we’d see happen.

But what’s more interesting isn’t the date. No, it’s the question of what they could actually show off this time around.

Since well, the Switch is clearly on the way out. It’s got its successor launching this year, said successor is being showed off next week, and it’s almost certain that any big Mario or Zelda titles in the works are due for that console instead.

So, we’re rather intrigued to see what Nintendo might show off tomorrow. Will various obscure franchises get revived in the console’s dying days? Is there going to be a big focus on backwards compatibility and cross generation games, with some of tomorrow’s announcements also planned for the Switch 2?

Honestly, it’s impossible to say.

Still, that’s the announcement. A new Nintendo Direct is happening tomorrow, and it’ll be entirely focused on Switch 1 games. Here’s waiting to see what insanity this one has to offer!
