Ah, video game leaks. Nintendo seems to be cursed with them, don’t they? With every Pokemon game leaking online months in advance, every Mario and Zelda game getting datamined on day 1 and things like accidentally publicised videos spoiling movies, it’s clear the company can’t go three days without something of theirs being leaked onto the internet.
And that only continues with the latest one. Why? Because out of nowhere, the full artbook for the Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom has leaked onto the net, complete with artwork of new characters, locations and mechanics!
It’s an insane leak really, and with the game’s launch date 3 months away, one which is going to blow the lid of all manner of interesting new details.
But here’s the thing.
It doesn’t really give away that much of the game itself. In fact, the art book leak… only raises more questions than answers.
In fact, after having checked out the leaks, we’re honestly more confused than anything else.
And there are a multitude of reasons for that. For one thing, the book doesn’t really give away the structure of the story itself, or any ending related details.
As a result, we can’t tell exactly how Ganondorf’s plans are going to work here at all, let alone how things like dungeons will be structured this time around.
It’s all very ambiguous, and with all the weird things shown on the pages, part of a puzzle that doesn’t quite seem to fit together.
So yeah, don’t worry Zelda fans. If you actually do decide to hunt this down (and given it’s on the Tears of the Kingdom subreddit’s Discord server, that’s not particularly difficult), you probably won’t be spoilt all too much. Just left utterly confused as to how it all works.
Either way, what do you think of this? Are you surprised that the artbook for the game leaked online so early? And is this something you’re seeking out yourself, or are you avoiding spoilers til the game’s official release on May 12 2023?
