Back in [year], Super Mario Land 2 DX was released online. Designed to turn the original Super Mario Land 2 into a Game Boy Color game, the hack added full colour graphics to the classic Game Boy game along with a whole host of other neat things, like Luigi as a playable character. It was a neat project, and it made for a nice way to re experience the original title in an all new light.
But have you ever wished the original Super Mario Land would get a similar treatment? That for once, you’d be able to experience Sarasara Land in full colour?
If so, you’re in luck! That’s because earlier today, a similar mod was released for the original Super Mario Land under the name Super Mario Land DX. And yep, said mod brings full colour graphics to that title too. Here’s a video showing it in action:

Yeah, it won’t make the graphics any more complicated than before, but it still works well none the less. What’s more, given how small the sprites were in the original game, the added colour actually goes a long way to make them more readable too, meaning this version is actually easier to understand in addition to being nicer to look at.
So give toruzz some thanks for his work, and check out the hack if you want to try it for yourself. It’ll certainly give you a new way to play this fantastic game!
