Super Mario Galaxy Direct Reveals New Voices

Well folks, it’s here. The final trailer for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie aired in a Nintendo Direct for the film tonight, with a few last voice actor reveals and bits of footage.

So, what’s new here? What’s new in this latest trailer and presentation?

Well, footage wise, not all that much. We see the castle get pulled into space, like in the opening to Super Mario Galaxy. There’s some extra footage of the fight scene against the SMB 2 cast, with Wart’s first voice lines. We get a few more scenes of the galaxies in general, with visits to the Freezeflame Galaxy among others…

But there’s not much in the way of reveals here. No new characters to see, no new story beats out of nowhere, no crazy twists to the formula. It’s a fun trailer, but one that could have aired on any old week.

That said, there were some other neat things revealed outside of the movie footage. Like say, more voice actors.

Yep, we can now reveal that Yoshi is voiced by Donald Glover, Wart is voiced by Luis Guzman and Honey Queen (not shown in the presentation) is voiced by Issa Rae. They seem to do a good job with their respective characters, at least from what we’ve heard.

There’s also some info about how the film ties into the Nintendo Today app. You can get collectible cards based on the movie once a day, unlock wallpaper and photo frames based on it if you use the app when going to see the movie itself, and there’s a lot of marketing effort put behind both the movie and Mario Day as a whole.

Regardless, that’s it for the Mario Galaxy Movie’s trailers. The last one aired today, and we’ll be able to see it for ourselves in April 2026.

So, what are your thoughts? Did you enjoy the Direct? What characters are you most excited to see appear?
