When Pizza Tower was first announced in 2018, we always knew it was coming to a Nintendo console. Okay, the initial announcement was only for a PC release, and Pizza Tower Guy didn’t give any indication that other consoles were planned in our 2019 interview…
But the very concept of the game was so Nintendo like it was almost inevitable. After all, it’s a spiritual successor to the Wario Land series, and Wario Land 4 in particular. So to not have the game on Switch just seemed unthinkable to us, especially given the presence of other Wario Land likes such as AntonBlast on the console.
Hence we knew it was coming, just not when that would happen.
Now though, we have an answer. Why? Because as revealed in the Indie World Showcase this afternoon, Pizza Tower is being released on Switch later today. So, if you’re a diehard Wario Land fan looking to try it out (or just someone who likes 2D platformers in general), now’s your chance. It’s coming to Switch, and will be available to play very shortly.
Perhaps Nintendo might like to follow suit with a new Wario Land game of their own?
