Modder Adds Pikmin to Ocarina of Time

Modder Adds Pikmin to Ocarina of Time

Over the last few months, we’ve seen a lot of interesting Ocarina of Time mods from notCHase. There were mods that recreated Tears of the Kingdom abilities, including Ultrahand, Fuse and Recall. There were mods that replicated things from Breath of the Wild or other Zelda games, like Stasis, Shield Surfing or Bullet Time.

And heck, with things like the Falcon Punch or Fox’s Reflector added in from Super Smash Bros, it seems the sky was the limit where his Ocarina of Time projects were concerned.

Which is only truer of his latest project. Why? Because somehow, it adds Pikmin to Ocarina of Time as well. Here’s a video showing it in action:

Yeah, it’s literally Pikmin mechanics here. You can pluck them out of the ground, throw them at enemies to damage them, have them carry objects and follow you around… It’s as close as we’ll probably get to a full crossover, with all the mechanics and setups that implies.

Unfortunately, the download link for the mod seems to be non-existent at this point in time. So, while it’s possible to see how Pikmin would work in the OoT engine, and to add them in if you have the programming knowledge required, actually getting to play around with them seems to be nothing more than a pipe dream at the moment.

Still, here’s hoping that changes in future, and we can finally experience the Ocarina of Time/Pikmin crossover of our dreams!
