Master Works is Getting an English Translation

Master Works is Getting an English Translation

Wow, it’s been long enough, hasn’t it? Indeed, more than 2 years after the book was originally released in Japan, the Tears of the Kingdom Master Works is now getting officially translated by Dark Horse Books.

Named Secrets of the Zonai, this edition will release in October with 424 pages of art and lore exploring the game, its backstory and its unused content. It’ll also get a hero’s edition with a world map and art print alongside the book, albeit for an increased price ($119.99 rather than $59.99).

And well, to say we’re excited to see this is a bit of an understatement. As anyone’s who viewed our channel knows, we’ve covered content from the book before. Like in this selection of unused ideas from Tears of the Kingdom:

These were created thanks to the help of community translations and other resources, and definitely gave us some useful info…

But there was a lot of guesswork involved too. We don’t know Japanese ourselves, and the community efforts were probably a fair bit different from Nintendo’s original intentions in many ways.

So, it’ll be nice having something official to compare to instead. Having some real behind the scenes documentation for the game with some more flourish that what’s available right now.

Still, the book’s being localised, and it releases this October. What are your thoughts on that? Is it something you’ll buy?
