Sorry Advance Wars fans! As it turns out, you won’t be getting to play Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp after all come April 8th. That’s because according to Nintendo, the game’s being delayed to an unknown date in 2022 due to ‘recent world events’. Here’s the post about it on their social media account:
In light of recent world events, we have made the decision to delay Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp, which was originally scheduled to release on Nintendo Switch on 08/04. Please stay tuned for updates on a new release date.

It’s sad news for fans, but it’s understandable nonetheless. After all, the war in Ukraine right now likely means a war themed game isn’t perhaps the most appropriate release at this point, especially not one with tanks attacking cities and a villainous force somewhat inspired by Russia. It just hits a bit close to home right now, and isn’t something Nintendo wants associated with them at this point.
Still, the game’s coming out later this year nonetheless. So if you want to play it, relax and wait. It may not be coming out in April, but it’ll be available soon either way.
