Over the course of the year, two DLC packs have been released for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
There’s the Teal Mask, where we headed to the Kitakami region to uncover the truth behind Ogerpon and the Loyal Three.
As well as the Indigo Disk, where we got to explore the Blueberry Academy, as well as return to Area Zero in search of the legendary Pokémon Terapagos.
These two DLC packs added various new Pokémon and features to the game, and expanded upon the main story with numerous new characters and plot points to boot.
However, it seems like they’re not all we’re getting for Scarlet and Violet DLC wise. Why? Because as announced on Twitter a few days ago, a new epilogue for the game is also being released as free DLC in January next year:

And this DLC is basically a combination of the main story and the Teal Mask. This time, the player returns to Kitakami alongside Neomona, Penny and Arven, with the plot just being that they’re on a new adventure after uncovering the mysteries of Area Zero. It’s a neat setup, and a nice way to tie the DLC storylines into those of the main game.
As well as a neat way to introduce another legendary Pokémon to the series. Why? Because when the Indigo Disk was datamined, a new ‘mythical’ Pokémon by the name of Pecharunt was found too.

With said Pokémon being the master of the Loyal Three from the Teal Mask expansion. Apparently, it’s responsible for giving them their powers, and acts as the overarching villain behind the scheme to steal the masks from Ogerpon.
So, the new epilogue is going to give us a way to catch that Pokemon too, as well as a mini story centred around its exploits after the events of the main game. Pretty cool really, especially given the series’ past tendency to lock similar Pokemon to events and distributions instead.
Either way, the DLC is coming on January 11th, and it’ll tie into both the main storyline and that of the Teal Mask. So, what do you think about it? Are you excited to see what’s in store here?
