Earlier this week, artwork showing Yoshi and other elements of the Super Mario Galaxy movie was leaked online. This gave us our first look at Mario’s dinosaur buddy, plus a basic outline of the plot overall.

And it seems like we’re getting even more soon. Why? Because earlier today, Nintendo announced that a Direct for the film is happening at 2pm on November 12th UK time. Here’s the tweet about it:
Join us on Wednesday, November 12th at 14:00 (UK time) for a Nintendo Direct, featuring the world premiere of The Super Mario Galaxy Movie official trailer. No game information will be included in this presentation.

Yeah, it seems we’re getting the first ever trailer here. It’s big news for Mario fans for sure.
But what could be included in it? How could Nintendo show off the film for the first time?
Honestly, we’re not sure. The original movie’s reveal featured Bowser’s invasion of the Penguin Kingdom and him taking the Power Star, so maybe the Galaxy 1 intro showing Bowser’s army obliterating Toad Town and stealing the castle with a UFO could work here too:
Maybe this scene will be the focus…
However, that could be a bit predictable here. We’ve already had one villain-focused reveal trailer, and it’s likely we’ll get more if the Donkey Kong Country and Luigi’s Mansion movies happen as expected.
So, perhaps they’ll do something else. Perhaps Rosalina and the Comet Observatory will get some focus? Perhaps Mario’s planetary journey will get shown?
Or maybe something else will happen entirely. Either way, we’re excited to see what they do here!
