Orchestra Plays Luigi’s Mansion Dark Moon Music!

Oh wow. This version of the Haunted Towers theme (played by the Dr. Annie B. Jamieson Elementary POPS Orchestra at the 2014 Magee Stringvitational) is absolutely amazing.  Watch the video and hear it for yourselves:

I also liked the random skits they did throughout the performance.  Like Luigi going to suck up a ghost with the Poltergust 5000, or the dancing Luigis as the end.

So yeah.  Absolutely great performance guys!  And that’s from someone who thinks Luigi’s Mansion Dark Moon has one of the best soundtracks of all time.

Luigi’s Mansion Arcade being tested?

From Capcom no less, which is an interesting choice of developer.  But yeah, apparently they’ve been doing a ‘location test’ for an arcade version of Luigi’s Mansion Dark Moon, known only as ‘Luigi’s Mansion Arcade’.

Here are some pictures showing it in action:

So what do we think about this?  Well to be honest, we’re a bit confused about the whole deal.  Keep reading if you want to know why…

The 3DS eShop has Luigi’s Mansion 2 Music!

No, not available to buy and listen to.  That’d probably make too much sense for Nintendo.

Instead, to celebrate the Halloween season, they’ve got Gloomy Manor’s theme music from Dark Moon playing as you browse and purchase games.  Here’s a video showing it in action (so to speak):

Personally? I kind of like it. Okay, I’d probably prefer the tune from Haunted Towers or Treacherous Mansion myself (since their theme songs are much better than the Gloomy Manor one ever was), but hey, it’s nice to see Luigi’s Mansion 2 getting such attention this time of year.

You can find the full theme (as taken from the original game) in the full article after the break, if you just feel like hearing it again.

As various posts on sites like Doctor Who TV point out, the series has never had much luck in the video game sphere.  Indeed, with such abysmal tie in efforts as Return to Earth and the Eternity Clock as pretty much all the representation the franchise gets, you could see it’s kind of been screwed over by just about every development team even attempting to make a game based on it (the Adventure Games are the only good exceptions here).

But then I thought a bit more, and came up with a possible good dev team for it, Next Level Games!  And so here’s why the Dark Moon developers should be responsible for the next Doctor Who tie in game…
