As many people probably already know, Super Mario 3D World is going to have live recorded music similar to the Galaxy series, complete with tunes played by an orchestra. But there’s one difference!
Yeah, instead of the traditional orchestral themes of Galaxy 1 or the more ‘majestic’ tunes of Galaxy 2, 3D World will feature live recorded Big Band style music, the kind of jazz/party style stuff that’s generally not been recorded live for the series.
Here’s Mahito Yokota’s comments about it:
“There are naturally a lot of tracks performed live. We’re arranging the music with a big-band feel, taking advantage of a full horn section with trumpets and saxophones.”
All in all, should be a nice change to hear. There’s only so much film style music you can put up with in the Mario series, and the themes we’ve heard so far do indeed sound very impressive in a different way:
What do you think? Are you looking forward to Mario 3D World’s soundtrack like we are here?
