Reminder Several Nintendo Games Vanishing This Month

Nintendo rang in Mario’s 35th anniversary with a bang! Such things being the last-man-standing Switch Online game Super Mario 35, Super Mario Bros. Game & Watch and the ROMs on a disc package Super Mario 3D All-Stars! Which like being thrown into a bomb like Bowser, it was revealed they would all no longer be offered come the end of March 2021.

“The Super Mario Bros. 35th Anniversary campaign will end at the end of March 2021,” Nintendo said on Monday. “With the end of the campaign, the production, sales and services of some products will also end.”

In an interview with Polygon in December, Nintendo of America president Doug Bowser discussed the company’s decision to remove the products from sale.

“There are various ways that we’re celebrating Mario’s 35th. And with some of these titles, we felt it was an opportunity to release them for a limited period of time,” he said.

It’s unknown why Nintendo is taking this Disney Vault way of doing it with such a big name title like Mario, but its how they are doing it. Also of note, the original Fire Emblem will also end come the end of this month as well.

So what are your thoughts on this? Are you sad to see them go? Do you wish they kept Mario 35 up on the service? Let us know below, on the forum or on discord!
