Well, Nintendo’s New Link Between Worlds Commercials are certainly Different…

In that they seem to go back to the style of the first game’s commercial, aka the over the top rap they used back then with the characters doing a ridiculous dance to go with it.  Without the live action dancing.

I have no words.  I mean, the idea’s a bit different, but damn… I can only imagine how awkward it must be to be a Japanese Nintendo fan having to watch one of these come on the TV midway through a show you’re watching with other people.  But what do you think?  Interesting idea for a commercial?  Or awkward as hell?

You’re not very familiar with Japanese commercials, I take it.

I like how the Japanese marketing uses catchy tunes to bring in customers and make a flashy advertisement showing great gameplay compared to the US marketing that just focuses on bringing in some famous person to make the consumers think that they play the game. Is it any wonder why Nintendo is much more popular in Japan?
