Volcanion Revealed for Gen 6 Pokemon Games!

It’s been a while, hasn’t it?  Since a couple of hackers found Diancie, Hoopa and Volcanion in the files for Pokemon X and Y, we’ve had new announcements all over the place.  First you had Diancie revealed, then Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire were announced, then came everything from Hoopa to Hoopa Unbound and the new Zygarde formes.  It almost looked like Volcanion had been completely forgotten about as a Pokemon.

But now, things have finally changed, and the Pokemon Company has officially revealed the existence of the mythical Volcanion on the official website and Youtube channel.  Here’s the official trailer for the new Pokemon:

As well as some official media from the website:

If you didn’t gather this from the video, Volcanion is a Fire/Water type Pokemon whose known in the Pokedex as the ‘Steam Pokemon’.  Yes, people have already made comparisons to Valve’s gaming download service, so that joke has already gotten stale.  It has the ability Water Absorb (changes Water type attacks into HP and stops them doing any damage in the process), stands at 5′ 07″ and weighs 429.9 lbs. Apparently that’s about the weight of a dolphin, so the Pokemon makers probably fail at statistics.

But yeah, Volcanion has now been revealed for the generation 6 Pokemon games. It took a while, but it’s finally happened. What do you think about the reveal?
