Rune Factory Developer Neverland Ceases Trading

Like the Rune Factory series?  Enjoyed Rune Factory 4?  Well it looks like that might be it for the whole franchise now, since the developer responsible has now announced it’s ceasing trading for good.

Yes, unfortunately for Rune Factory fans all over the world (as well as anyone who liked the Lufia series back in the SNES days), Neverland Co Ltd have announced they will cease trading and have filed for bankruptcy.  It’s disappointing too, the sales of Rune Factory 4 were actually some of the highest the series has ever seen, it just wasn’t enough to keep the company going in these tough economic times.

So yes, there goes another good video game developer, another victim of the recession.  What do you think? Are you disappointed that Neverland Co Ltd has gone out of business and the Rune Factory series might end up a distant memory as a result?
