Rumour; Pokemon X and Y Introduce New Fairy Type, Xerneas and Sylveon will use it?

Here’s another interesting Pokemon X and Y rumour!  Yes, according to a source who apparently leaked accurate info about Gen V Pokemon, a new Fairy type is being added to Pokemon X and Y and will be used for various new and existing Pokemon.  Here’s exactly what they say:

  • Xerneas and Sylveon are going to be Fairy type
  • Yveltal is dual Dark and Flying type
  • Clefairy and its evolutionary line will have their types altered to Fairy Type

Above: These two Pokemon will apparently be type Fairy

Now I do stress that it’s entirely a rumour as of this point in time and has zero evidence to back it up. Could it be accurate?  Potentially, the source who says this apparently leaked quite a few pieces of info about gen V and apparently has contacts within Nintendo.  But it’s currently only a rumour and should be taken with at least a small grain of salt.

Either way, do you think this is accurate?  Is a new Fairy type going to be added to the gen 6 Pokemon games and used as the main typing for Sylveon and Xerneas?  Is Yveltal a Dark/Flying Pokemon?  What do you think?

No. The only type I see coming is Light type. Please dont get lost reading the following: In Japan, Dark type is known as aku which can be translated as Evil. This explains the existance of dark type moves such as Dark Void, Sucker Punch and pursuit, these are forms of evil and dishonest fighting. Now, people say that Psychic is Dark’s counterpart. It is not. Psychic is related to the mind, which is why psychic is weak against bug types since bugs are fear of the mind. Also Dark is super effective against Psychic which eliminates the argument that… Read more »

What makes me think that Sylveon might be a fairy/flying type, are the following.

Sylveon possibly relates to “Sylphs”, which are mythological creatures that are similar to angels, and are under the sub group of “air spirits”.

Secondly, the Japanese name, Ninfia, possibly comes from “Nymphs”, specifically, Celestial Nymphs, which obviously have something to do with the sky (Celestial).

Nothing but pure crap.
I mean, what types would it be weak/strong against?

It’s about as idiotic as those Light/Sound-type rumours.

P.S. the fandom’s thought process of “if it has wings, it’s a flying-type” confuses me. Maybe in X and Y, Pokémon who have wings and aren’t Flying-types (such as the Eon duo) could have one of their types altered to satisfy some of those people.

Losers this was right, ‘Light’? Are you stupid? Its fairy, week to steel and poison.
