Pokemon X and Y; Diancie Event/Signature Move Revealed!

As anyone remotely dedicated Pokemon fan now knows, the new event Pokemon Diancie has recently been confirmed as a Pokemon X and Y species, with Nintendo themselves actually putting up information about it on the official site.  But now, we’ve got even more cool stuff to show you!  Yep, someone’s hacked the game and found both the Mystery Gift event caused by this Pokemon and also what it’s signature attack looks like!  So keep reading for more details…

First up, here’s the event that happens when you get Diancie in your game:

Well, isn’t that an interesting twist?  Turns out some mysterious organisation is interested in this Pokemon and wants you meet their leader after you get it.  It also seemingly confirms that Diancie does indeed have some relation to Carbink, with the NPCs saying the Pokemon came about as a mysterious mutation from said Pokemon species.

Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately, you’d have to be a nutcase to give random NPCs a one off legendary Pokemon like that), the player in the video doesn’t progress with the event.  They also try and take the Pokemon in battle, which is kind of funny given that it immediately gets smashed to pieces by some random encounter mon.  Guess a level 15 legendary can’t fight a level 59 common species and win, who’d have thought it?

We also see its Pokedex entry, which is the following:

A sudden transformation of Carbink, its pink glimmering body is said to be the loveliest sight in the whole world.

So yeah, that confirms a connection.

Next up, here’s what it’s special move (Diamond Storm) looks like:

It’s a pretty good move apparently, the uploader says (in a comment) that it has 100 base power and 95 accuracy, making it an incredibly good Rock type attack.

And talking of good, its stats seem pretty decent as well.  Okay, not so much the health (217 at level 100 is kind of pathetic), but the fact it can stand up to a wild Pokemon’s explosion attack without any more than a scratch is pretty impressive.  As is how its Rock type Diamond Storm attack could nearly wipe out the opposing Graveller (at level 60 or so) in one hit despite being not very effective.

It’s stats are apparently:

50 HP/100 Attack/150 Defense/100 Sp. Attack/150 Sp. Defense/50 Speed

With the following (lacklustre) moveset:

  • – Tackle
  • – Harden
