Okay, it’s not a typical trailer. More of a live action commercial which basically contrasts Pokemon Sun and Moon with life in Hawaii. Here’s the video:
So what’s new then?
Well, quite a bit actually. Sure there aren’t any new Pokemon species revealed here, but it does at least hint towards features included in the game. Such as, the strange mega evolution type forms and abilities:
Above: The trainer gets ready, with a flashy pose
Above: Popplio, Litten and Rowlet using their special attacks via this mechanic.
As you can see, they seem to let your Pokemon do some sort of super attack or power up for a while. Perhaps this is related to a new Pokemon synchronisation feature? Because it certainly doesn’t seem to be connected to the existing Mega Evolution mechanics, and it does seem to provide a significant change in the Pokemon’s abilities.
Another addition shown here is an expanded form of Pokemon riding. This time, it seems like Tauros, Stoutland, Sharpedo and Lapras can all be ridden around the overworld with some sort of mechanical saddle device. That’s much more than you can ride in Pokemon X and Y, and they may not be the only ones. Perhaps you get to ride your own Pokemon this time around?
Pokemon Amie is confirmed to return too. So it’s not a one off feature like some people were fearing.

We also see the new bear and Pikachu ghosts in game:

It’s only a very short appearance, but it at least shows how they look outside of official artwork.
Finally, it seems you don’t need to wear a hat this time around. It’s only a minor cosmetic change, but it’s a new customisation option none the less:
So that concludes the new trailer. It’s not a huge array of new features, but it’s enough to keep you interested till the next round of Pokemon Sun and Moon news.
What do you think of what’s been shown here?
