Miyamoto; We’re Currently working on More Zelda Games for the 3DS!
Or more precisely, they’ve currently got ideas for new Zelda games on 3DS that they haven’t announced yet, meaning that A Link Between Worlds is not the last such title on the system.
Here’s Miyamoto’s original quote, in response to a question about the future of the Zelda series and upcoming games in it:
In addition to that, we have ideas for Nintendo 3DS which we have not announced yet, so I hope you will look forward to them.
But while that seems clear enough, keep reading to find out the types of Zelda games I suspect Nintendo might be working on for our favourite handheld system!
Personally, here are my predictions for Zelda games being worked on for the 3DS, including those Nintendo might be referring to…
1. The Legend of Zelda Majora’s Mask 3D
Cause come on, we all know it’s coming at some point, and it seems more and more obvious that it’s going to be announced at an upcoming Nintendo Direct given all the stuff going on at Grezzo and the staff they’re hiring for a Zelda project.
2. The Legend of Zelda Four Swords
This with the Wii U and 3DS could work a lot better than it did on the Gamecube, especially given the fact you wouldn’t need a pesky link cable type device in order to connect the systems together. Besides, the very concept is just made for ‘asymmetric multiplayer’, wouldn’t you agree?
We’ve got Ocarina of Time 3D. We’re probably getting Majora’s Mask 3D. Each Nintendo handheld has got more and more console like Zelda games. So wouldn’t it be logical to expect a new 3D one on the system at some point? Perhaps as a final bow for the console before it’s replaced by its successor (like what happened with Majora’s Mask on the Nintendo 64)?
But those are just my thoughts and future predictions. Will they be right? Who knows, my history of predicting the future has been kind of spotty to say the least. But I think they’re logical enough guesses about what the future holds for Zelda on 3DS anyway.
