Could a Nintendo Direct Be Coming September 13th?
Well, it’s rumour time again everyone! This time, we’ve got an interesting Nintendo Direct rumour courtesy of NeoGAF. This one says that a Nintendo Direct could be coming on September 13th 2017, with the leaker (who previously leaked LA Noire on Switch) saying he’d heard rumblings of a Direct down the line.
But is it plausible? Could a Nintendo Direct really be coming next week?
Honestly, I think it could be. For instance, look at the dates for the last few (non-event based) Nintendo Directs.
They’re pretty regular, with certain months having three in a short period of time. What’s more, even if you ignore E3/Gamescom time, that still leaves a generally monthly schedule for the presentations, with the previous one being posted in late August.
So, the timing’s right there. Nintendo releasing their first September one on the 10th would be pretty logical for them.
And there’d certainly be no shortage of possible topics either. After all, look at all these games coming out that we don’t know much about:
- Kirby (for 3DS)
- Pokémon Ultra Sun and Moon
- Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga + Bowser’s Minions
- Fire Emblem Warriors
- Metroid Prime 4
- That mystery Switch Pokémon game
Plus, many, many more. Add that to various games we don’t know exist yet (and trust me, these are always revealed in a Nintendo Direct like this), games we need more info about (Super Mario Odyssey for example) and DLC updates for games (Breath of the Wild’s second pack) and there are tons of possibilities here. You could easily support ten Nintendo Directs with the known games alone.
And when you consider that the rumour poster turned out to be right about LA Noire on Switch already… well, you’ve got a very viable rumour right here.
So, a Nintendo Direct could be coming soon, and the evidence certainly supports the possibility.
But we’ll mark it as a rumour for now none the less. People have been wrong in the past on matters like this, and even trusted sources have been found to be inaccurate in certain situations. It’s only right to be cautious.
Still, what do you think about it all? Do you believe a Nintendo Direct could be imminent?
Or will the rumour turn out to be baseless?
