Mario & Luigi Dream Team; Battle Broque Madame!

Yep, it’s the Luiginary equivalent of the Mad Skillathon!  And the prizes are fairly similar too, with the basic sets of coins being gotten at B and A ranks, and a unique piece of gear for the incredibly difficult S one.  Here are some details on each challenge and what they give you.

Luiginary Ball

The first mini game of the lot, this is the second easiest one to clear in the entire mode.  Basically, you just roll the Luiginary Ball down an obstacle course (rolling over as many Broque Madame clones as possible), before kicking it at a bigger version of Broque Madame afterwards.

Of course, there are some traps, namely spikes that shrink or destroy the Luiginary Ball (depending on its current size) and bombs that immediately cause you to fail the game if you hit them, so it’s not quite as easy as you’d think the first time.  Still very doable though.

Prizes

B Rank: 100 Coins

A Rank: 300 Coins

S Rank: Coin Boots DX

Luiginary Stack

The ‘endless’ runner platformer of the mini game group, Luiginary Stack is a bit different to the others, in that it’s basically a combo of the attack in its normal form (gather ‘layers’, then jump on an enemy) and a platforming type experience where you have to quickly jump over dangerous obstacles like spikes and bombs (which act identical to in the Luiginary Ball challenge).

It’s pretty damn hard to be honest, probably the most brutal of the bunch here.

Prizes

B Rank: 100 Coins

A Rank: 300 Coins

S Rank: Sap Hammer DX

Luiginary Flame

The only ‘basic’ Battle Broque Madame game, this is basically just a quick reflexes button pressing game, where you have to hit either B, A or B and A respectively to make a group of Luigis, Mario or both Mario and Luigi bounce a fireball along the line before smashing it into Broque Madame at the end.

It’s… kind of annoying to be honest.  Basically, think a Green Shell Mad Skillathon type challenge, except with three chances instead of one and that’s basically what this mini game is.  Still, it’s pretty beatable if you’re decent at Luiginary Flame, and the score goes up so quickly here that you won’t really have to play more than six rounds or so to reach S rank (assuming you don’t mess up).

Prizes

B Rank: 100 Coins

A Rank: 300 Coins

S Rank: Blunt Hammer DX

Luiginary Wall

Probably the most fun mini game in the entirety of Dream Team (and in my opinion, the only ‘easy’ Luiginary challenge), the Luiginary Wall ‘battle’ here is basically Breakout on stereoids.  Hit Luigi around to make him take out small Broque Madame clones, then battle larger ones by either hitting them multiple times or hitting the giant wall of Luigis behind them.

There are some cool power ups here too, like the X2 Orb (which gives you two points for every enemy taken out instead of one), the wings (which speed up or slow down Luigi’s movements), the L icon (which adds another Luigi to the table, like multiple balls in a game of pinball) and the heart (restores one life).  It’s fairly fun, has no instant fail obstacles and is quite easy too.

Prizes

B Rank: 100 Coins

A Rank: 300 Coins

S Rank: Lucky Gloves DX

After you’ve got an S Rank in all the above mini games, you then also win the Supreme Boots/Excellent Boots, a piece of gear that boots some stats but hurts you if you don’t get an Excellent rating for any attack in battle.  Not much of a prize to be honest, but to be fair, the bonuses you do get for these sidequests are kind of useless anyway (both the Mad Skillathon prizes and Battle Broque Madame prizes are either stronger, or perhaps even weaker versions of gear you can get for minimal effort elsewhere).
